"Recently, I took my Lexus in for the 30,000 mile service. Ken took great care of the car and carefully went over every item required for this service. His attention to detail is much appreciated. The car was ready on time and I have nothing but accolades for him and his crew." Victor B

"Ken Cook and his staff have always provided me fair prices and courteous service. It started with a Saturday service need when no one else would look at my car until Monday, 4 years ago. Whenever I have needed service Ken has been a resource I can depend upon." - Mike H

"Recommended by a friend several years ago, we depend on Ken and his crew to take good care of our vehicles! They have done an outstanding job, even to the point of working us in when we had to make an emergency trip out of town. Many Kudos to Automotive City, Inc." - Myrna Wood

"I'm telling you- you will NOT find a more honest mechanic ANYWHERE. I've lived in a lot of places and driven a lot of different cars and have had many experiences with different mechanics. Never had I, before, known a mechanic to tell me that work that I went in telling them I needed done, was not actually necessary. I feel completely confident in their integrity and the quality of their work." - A E.

"The owners are wonderful, the service reasonable and done right the first time. They take care of my Lexus which is going strong at 160K because of their work. The place is spotless. Highly recommended." - JD M.

I recently blew a coolant hose on my Honda Accord in Colfax on my way to Grass Valley. A couple family members have always spoken very highly of Ken at Automotive City, and take their vehicles there on a regular basis.
I barely made it to the shop around 4:45 pm as they were getting ready to close. Ken and Doug looked at the car, did some quick inspection and actually gave me a couple options and costs. they were very upfront about each repair option, and how it could affect me down the road. Even though they were closing, they took the time to give me an option that would get me back on the road quickly.
I decided on an option, and they called immediately to get the parts ordered. They called and set up a rental car for me, which included their B2B discount (which I thought was really great).
The repairs were done the next day a little earlier than they said they would be, and I've had no issues with the repairs since. Everything was as quoted, and the service was great!
I have a truck in for MAJOR service currently (it basically wasnt even running when I took it in). They have called and checked in each step of the way to make sure I'm ok with the next step, and make sure I dont spend more than the truck is worth. It's an older truck, so it's not worth putting too much money into.
I really appreciate the communication and the quality of work. I'll continue to take my vehicles to Automotive City!
Thanks guys!

"We have been taking our vehicles here for 5 years .  Great service and honest mechanics.  Automotive city is the only place in town we trust.  One time after using a 19.95 oil change coupon at another location we were told our truck needed thousands of dollars of work.  We took the truck to Ken at Automotive City and he said a lot of what the other mechanic was going to fix was not necessary on an old truck.  He saved us thousands of dollars on that visit alone." - Cameron M

"We really trust the mechanics at automotive city. They are very helpful and reasonably priced and we always know when they work on our cars it is always done right." - Samantha L

It’s easier than ever to keep your car running smoothly for thousands of miles. If your vehicle has less than 50,000 miles on it today, chances are it still has 75 percent of its driving life ahead of it. That’s good news if you’re like the majority of Americans who are holding onto their vehicles longer that ever before.

It wasn’t that long ago that hitting the 100,000-mile mark on the odometer was a major milestone. Today, vehicles are built to last. With the proper maintenance and attention, there’s no reason you shouldn’t expect to see that 50,000-mile reading on the odometer one day roll right past 200,000 and keep on going. Here’s how to make that happen.

Vehicle belts aren’t that different than the belts that hold up your trousers. They need to fit properly and stay in place, and if they break, sag, or wear out, you’ll probably wish you were wearing a different belt that day.

The same goes for the belts in your car. Your engine compartment is a punishing environment, and while all auto belts are made of materials designed to be both flexible and tough, even the toughest materials will eventually wear out due to the extreme temperatures under the hood.

TRUE OR FALSE? Until your vehicle is out-of-warranty, it must be serviced by the new car dealer or the factory warranty will be void?
FALSE?    Our ASE Certified technicians at Automotive City CAN SERVICE your vehicle if it is under warranty with the same tools typically faster and at a better price point plus we are cross-trained in multiple lines of vehicles vs. just the brand at the dealership you bought your car or truck giving you more options!

It’s the law that independent repair shops can provide the services to maintain your new car warranty. Consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which prohibits a manufacturer from voiding the vehicle warranty because service was done by a non-dealer.

Chances are you don’t pay much attention to your vehicle’s battery until it dies, when you get to perform the dreary dual task of waiting for a jump while simultaneously calling for an appointment to get a new battery fitted. Of course, that’s if you’re sure it’s the battery that’s dead in the first place. The only way to be certain is to take it in to be tested. However, it generally helps to know the health of your car battery prior to finding yourself stranded.
